about
This year--2012--will be the 65th year for our Williams' family reunion--known by all of us as the "Birthday Dinner." It all began in 1947, two years before I was born, as a birthday party, celebrating the birthdays of my Grandmother, Annie Estelle Williams, and my Granddaddy, C. A. (Bud) Williams. I have not been able to attend every year, especially these last few years, but it has always been a great time when I am able to be there--the great country cookin', the many hugs, the oft-told stories of our childhood, seeing all the new ones who have been added to the family--either those who have gotten married or had newborns since the last birthday dinner--but also to share memories of those who have passed away since we last met.
This CD is lovingly dedicated to my Grandmother, and Granddaddy Williams, my Dad, Ralph Williams, all my aunts and uncles, and all of my cousins in our huge Williams' clan. May the words of this song bring back many warm and happy memories of days gone by and give you hope for that final family reunion.
